Dr. Mahmoud Azaz
Dr. Mahmoud Azaz is Assistant Professor of Arabic Language, Linguistics, and Pedagogy in the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies (MENAS). Also, he is the University of Arizona Distinguished Fellow (Center for University Education Scholarship) and a faculty member at the Doctorate Interdisciplinary Program in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, and holds a courtesy appointment at the Department of Linguistics. Currently, Dr. Azaz coordinates the elementary Arabic team in MENAS and serves as the Arabic Sector Head at the American Association of University Supervisors, Coordinators, and Directors of Language Programs (AAUSC).

Dr. Farwaneh is Associate Professor, Arabic Language & Linguistics at the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies. Also, she is an affiliate at the Doctorate Interdisciplinary Program in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, and holds a courtesy appointment at the Department of Linguistics.
Dr. Anne Betteridge
Dr. Betteridge is an anthropologist with a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Anne H. Betteridge is Director of the University of Arizona (UA) Center for Middle Eastern Studies, and a faculty member in the UA School of Middle Eastern & North African Studies.
Dr. Sonia Shiri
Dr. Sonia Shiri is Associate Professor, Middle East Language Programs Coordinator and Director of the Arabic Flagship Program at the University of Arizona. Prior to joining MENAS, Dr. Sonia Shiri coordinated the Arabic Program at the University of California, Berkeley, taught Arabic at Oxford University and held a Research Fellowship at the Center for Women and Gender at Stanford University.
